I kept saying that I would start a blog when...
When my office is ready, when my "to do" list is complete, after I clean the bedroom...blah, blah, blah...
This may very well be my last post...but at least I am posting once!
If I started it at any time it would be today. Today is September 1, 2009. Since I am obsessed with numbers, particularly number 9, September is the best month to start. September is the 9th month of the year (although in French Sept actually means 7; but we will just ignore that) Why not start today the 1st day of the month of my favorite number month. My first blog on the first.
Speaking of my favorite number, 9, that brings me to the reason for the name of my blog. You see according to Rocky Balboa, 9 is a lucky number. Rocky and Adrian's street address number in Rocky II was 1818. (My wedding date was 10-18-08, it equals 9 if you add it up and if you take out the 0's and re-arrange the numbers; it is 1818) Anyway...back to Rocky Balboa...
When Paulie asks Rocky why he wants to marry his sister...Rocky says:
"I don't know, I got gaps, she's got gaps, and together; we fill gaps."
Although spoken through a broken south philly accent, that line resonates.
Everyone in your life can fill at least one of your gaps. Think about it...
My "to do" lists are not complete. My bedroom is full of stuff from the office (which is incomplete). We just decided yesterday instead of just building the new desk for the office, we will now be re-painting the office and doing a complete overhaul...so later will never happen. The perfect situation will never be...so this is my first post.
...and that is that.
