I do not think that perfection exists. What I do think exists is the strength of character that it takes to achieve perfection; and that daily work ethic is in itself perfection. I came across "happiness formula" on Daily Cup of Yoga (they found it on Julis Lee Yoga) and I thought it was quite interesting and made comparisons to my own world...
Number 1 - Commitment
In every life you are meant to commit. That is why the word is commit-meant. Commitment gives you character. I am committed to my husband. I am committed to myself. I committed to living each day embracing the challenge of attempting perfection. That challenge is met by being the best woman I can be...and I believe that if I simply help myself and take care of my immediate presence then that little improvement to the world will help to beautify the world. Learn to love and help yourself and your surroundings and you can truly help the world and improve society as a whole. If you take that micro concept and apply it on the macro level and every single person lives on the philosophy of constant improvement and achievement; what would the result of that be? Think about it?
Number 2 - Character
Character is when all your characteristics - all facets, flaws and facts - are under your control. Yin and yang meet there, totally balanced. Character gives you dignity. This represents a true understanding of the self. When you know how specific feelings and situations make you react you can learn to control and manage your emotions. Diagnosing your personality and coping with aspects that are difficult for others to comprehend frees you from the stress of asking; why?
Number 3 - Dignity
People start trusting you, liking you, respecting you. Dignity will give you divinity. The way others see you helps you along your journey. Overcoming flaws and finally realizing your own goals is the result of others perception of your life.
Number 4 - Divinity
Divinity is when people have no duality about you. They trust you right away. They have no fear about you. Divinity gives you grace. Very simply; just be. Be true to yourself; do not be fake; be honest. You are to one the way you are to another.
Number 5 - Grace
Where there is grace, there is no interference, no gap between two people, no hidden agenda. Grace gives you the power to sacrifice. When you have grace you gain the ability to love. It comes back to that old thought where you can not learn to love another until you love yourself.
Number 6 - Sacrifice
You can stand in any pain for that person. That sacrifice gives you happiness. It is not for yourself. When you can be there for another fully without any reservation or selfish thought. When you wake in the morning what is your first thought?
Number 7 - Happiness
"You should make yourself so happy, that by looking at you, other people become happy." -Yogi Bhajan. It is not your space; your home; your clothes; if you can feel happy within yourself that energy will emote and you will see that reflection all around you...full circle if you constantly (ironically not selfishly) work on yourself to improve; you will improve all...
